Context
Emitte is a Brazilian technology company focused on solutions for the management and issuance of electronic tax documents. The platform's main focus is to simplify tax bureaucracy for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, in addition to offering specific tools for accounting firms.
The company operates with two main pillars: one product for entrepreneurs and another for accountants. In this case study, I will focus on the product for entrepreneurs, which is what I worked on. The product for entrepreneurs (MEI and SMEs) is mobile software that allows the issuance of various types of invoices, such as NF-e (products), NFS-e (services), NFC-e (consumer), CT-e (transport), and MDF-e (manifest). In addition, it has specific billing tools for MEIs, helping to monitor limits and issue DAS payment slips.
The Problem
Because it was a very bureaucratic process, users were unable to issue invoices, and when they did, the process took a long time and sometimes they had to go back and redo the already issued invoice. Furthermore, users constantly had to contact customer service, as the application was not clear enough for them to complete the entire process independently.
Objective
The goal of this project was to completely redo the UI of the application, create the documentation, and develop a style guide.
My Role
My role in this project was to lead the entire app redesign, working in a constantly changing environment and using agile methodologies. We were a small team of 4 people (Designer, Manager and 2 developers), but communication with the team was active and we validated daily whether what was delivered was in accordance with the prototypes.
Benchmarking
To interpret Emitte's benchmarking, it's necessary to understand that it positions itself as an "issuance specialist" (focused on agility and mobility), while many of its competitors are complete ERPs (Management Systems) that include issuance as a module.

New style guide
Now was the time to redo the entire style guide for the application; the old styles were outdated and generic.
